A question, a bug, or a word we got wrong? Email us and we will reply within 2 working days. Please include your device, the iOS version and the app version (shown at the bottom of Settings).
Where is Settings?
Tap the gear at the top right of the home screen. Language, sound, music, the daily reminder, VIP, Restore Purchases and Start Over are all there.
How do I restore my purchases?
Settings → Restore Purchases (it is also on the VIP page). Use the same Apple ID you bought with. VIP subscriptions and the Life Sentence come back on any iPhone or iPad signed in with that Apple ID.
How do I cancel my VIP subscription?
In the app: Settings → Manage Subscription, which opens Apple’s subscription page. Or on your iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Thai Prison Lingo.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the next renewal or before the free trial ends. You keep VIP until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
What is the Life Sentence (จำคุกตลอดชีวิต)?
A one-time purchase: you pay once and keep VIP forever. It is not a subscription, so it never renews and there is nothing to cancel. On a new device, tap Restore Purchases.
Already have a VIP subscription? Buying the Life Sentence does not stop it. Cancel the subscription in your Apple ID settings (above) so you are not charged again.
How does VIP Gang (VIP แก๊ง) work with Family Sharing?
VIP Gang is the yearly plan for up to 6 people through Apple’s Family Sharing. One person subscribes; everyone else in the Family Sharing group opens the app on their own device, signed in with their own Apple ID, and gets VIP. If it does not show up, tap Settings → Restore Purchases, and check that sharing is on for the subscriber: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Thai Prison Lingo → Share with Family.
Only VIP Gang is shared. The monthly and yearly plans and the Life Sentence belong to the Apple ID that bought them.
Can I get a refund?
Apple handles payments and refunds: reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I change the language?
The app opens in Thai. To switch: Settings → ภาษา · Language → English. In English, every Thai word comes with romanization and an English explanation. You can switch back the same way.
How do I reset my progress?
Settings → App Data → Start Over, then Delete & Start Over. This deletes all progress on this device and cannot be undone. Your VIP, purchases and reminder setting stay.
Is my progress saved? Does it sync?
Progress is saved on this device as you learn. There is no account, so it does not sync between devices, and deleting the app deletes it. VIP and purchases come back on a new device with Restore Purchases.
I ran out of keys
Keys are your bail. One comes back every 30 minutes, practicing an old lesson gives one back, and you can refill them with noodles. VIP has unlimited keys. Mistakes in Zone 1 never cost a key.
How do I turn the daily reminder on or off?
Settings → Daily reminder from Tiger, then pick a time. You can also turn notifications off in iOS Settings → Notifications. Reminders are scheduled on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.
Is this legal advice?
No. Thai Prison Lingo is educational satire for adults (18+). It jokes about prison life to teach the language, the culture and the law, and it does not encourage crime. The legal facts are general knowledge and laws change; for a real case, talk to a lawyer.
A word or a meaning is wrong
Prison slang changes from prison to prison and from one era to the next. Email us the word and what you know about it. We check every report against sources and fix it in an update.
